Mostar

A city risen from the dead

We stayed in the Muslim side of the city. The Professor (Omar Lakise) came up on numerous web searches although he is not on the internet. Perhaps a bit ‘studenty’ for us but Nedzad (Omars ‘adopted’ son) spent a lot of time talking with us (& football chat with Andrew over a bottle of whisky into the early hours)

Unfortunately the Professor was not well and had gone to Croatia to see a doctor

We climbed the minaret of this mosque - it was narrow & steep & scary.

Every single minaret in the city was destroyed in the war & have now been rebuilt
